• Obituary: INDIAN BOTTOM ASSOCIATION OLD REGULAR BAPTISTS, 1976, Knott County, KY. HALL, MARGARETT - who was born October 1, 1903, died January 14, 1976, making her stay here 72 years 3 months and 14 days. She was the daughter of Bill and Liddie Thornsberry Gibson. She married Pharaoh Hall, May 20, 1930 and to this union was born seven children - four boys and three girls. Pharaoh and one son Dwaine, and brothers, George and Hiram preceded her in death. Left to mourn her loss is three sons - Don, Bill and Malcolm; three girls - Rheta Mae, Annis Faye and Lula Irene and three brothers - Dave, Kay and Virnes and one sister - Lizzie Mae Hall, eighteen grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Mom joined the Old Regular Baptist Church about twenty years ago. Anyone who knew Mom knows she let her light shine. She loved to go to Church and hear the old time singing and preaching. She went to church as long as she was able and when she became too ill to go she had her dear brothers and sisters come to her house to have church. She would talk all week about her meeting. Mom's faith and love for God was so strong and He helped her through so much sorrow and pain. She lived a faithful and obed- ient life until God decided she had suffered enough and we feel he called her home. Mom was a member of the Mt. Olive Church and dearly loved every brother and sister. We believe she has passed from death unto life. Like the song, we feel Mom died at her post.
Written by her children At the request of her dear daughter, I'll write a few lines. She is not only missed in the home but oh how she is missed in the many churches. She was a bold soldier and stood for Old Regular Baptist. She was a friend to young and old alike. So children and friends if you will follow her good counsel, I feel you can meet her in Heaven.
Sister, thou wast mild and lovely,
Gentle as the summer breeze
Pleasant as the air of evening
As it floats among the trees.
Elder Murl F. Caudill
