Davis, June -- age 83, of Topmost, wife of the late Walton Davis, passed away, Saturday, November 1, 2003, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born June 5, 1920, in Raven, the daughter of the late Dewey Gibson and Pearlie Patton Gibson. She was a member of the Topmost Baptist Church. Survivors include one brother, Cantrel Gibson of Topmost; four sisters, Ora Sawyers, Bonnie Harris, and Elva Blankenship all of Topmost, And Shelby Tessier of Newport, North Caroline; one grandchild, Tammy Tower of Flint, Michigan; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Meredith Davis. Funeral services for June Davis were conducted Tuesday, November 4, 1 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, at Martin, with Clergymen bob Wireman, Eddie Paige and Carl Mullins officiating. Burial was in the Wayne Harris Cemetery, at Topmost, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin. Visitation was at the funeral home.
