Johann Martin SEITZ

  Noted events in his life were:

• Biography. Martin was a schulltheiss (city alderman) from Walldorf according to the marriage entry for his son Peter. On 5 Jan 1700, Johann Martin Seitz, lawyer, was elected to be a church elder for the Evangelical church in Walldorf.
Thom Shank writes, "Ship list. As you know, each male passenger is listed with so many persons. I hadn't paid a lot of attention to this since I have never been absolutely certain that the Peter Seitz was my own. However, now that it has been established that Peter is mine and we have some birthdates, etc. I looked at the ship list a little more carefully. It would appear from the notes of Suzy and Win for Peter, his bro.-in-law Johannes Eckman and others which Annette Burgett published that the "persons" were probably the children. Peter Seitz had 4 1/2 persons, ie. Johan Peter b.1712, Eva Barbara 1717/18, Georg Wendel 1720, Casper 1723 and Benjamin born after arrival. Johannes Eckman had 4 persons, i.e. Johannes 1712, Hyronimus 1717/18, Anna Christina 1721/22 and Elisabeth 1723/24"
