The Miami Monthly Meeting was located on the Little Miami River in Warren County in southwestern Ohio. An article appeared in June 1957 in the "North Carolinian" written by Willard Heiss, author of the Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol VII, Indiana Quaker records. It included a letter from Thomas Thornburg (son of James and Mary Moon Thornburg to his cousin Henry. The article tells us a little more of the movements of Henry and family. "Henry Thornburg and his family removed from North Carolina to Warren County, Ohio, in the Fall of 1814. In March 1820 they removed to Wayne County, Indiana, and in the Spring of 1822 they again removed to Posey Township, Fayette County, Indiana, where he remained the balance of his life." Henry married Elizabth STANLEY, daughter of Shadrack STANLEY and Agnes LADD, on 12 Jun 1799 in Guilford County, NC. (Elizabth STANLEY died on 8 Aug 1800.) Henry next married Rebekah HUSSEY, daughter of John HUSSEY and Mary JESSOP, on 2 Jun 1802 in Guilford County, NC. (Rebekah HUSSEY was born on 29 Sep 1778 in Guilford County, NC.) |
