• Deed, 1802, Richmond County, NC. This indenture made this 14th day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and two
between Thomas Gibson of the one part and Nathaniel Gibson son of sd (said) Thomas Gibson of the
other part, both of the County of Richmond and State of N Carolina (??) that the sd (said) Thomas
Gibson for & in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and beareth unto said
Nathaniel Gibson his son, also for the better maintenance and performance of him, the said Nathaniel
Gibson, hath given granted and confirmed unto said Nathaniel Gibson a certain tract of land (?) lying
and being in the County of Richmond, containing 200 acres on the west side of Lost(?) Creek, a branch
of the Little PeeDee River, two miles below the Green Pond, bounded as follows (Viz 1, beginning at a
black oak, a little below a spring branch in the edge of a small improvement, and ???? So W44 claim
& 77 links to a state, having a pines pointers, then N 40W 44ch & 73 links to a stake by a black oak,
then N 50 E 44 ch & 73 links to a state having a pines pointer then direct to the beginning, surveyed
by Isaac Brigman the 22th March 1767 as appears by pattent, and then conveyed by him to Rice Henderson
on the 7th Feb 1769 and then conveyed by him to Dader (Hader?) Keetin (Kectm?) on the 14th day of May 1767
and conveyed by him to Thomas Summerlin on the 28th day of Augst, 1777, then from him to Samuel Roykin
on the 3rd day of Sept 1796 then from said Roykin to Thomas Gibson on the 28th December 1801 to have and
hold the said granted and bargained premises with the privileges and appertences through him the said
Nathaniel Gibson his heirs and assigns forever and I the Thos Gibson for myself my heirs [Executors and
Administrators] Covenant with said Nathaniel Gibson that I am lawfully seized of the premises, that they
are free of all incumberencs, that I have a right to convey the same to Nathaniel Gibson to hold as aforesaid
and that I will warrant and defend the same to Nathaniel Gibson his heirs and assign forever against the
lawful claims and demands from all person, In witness where of I have herein to set my hand and seal the day
and year above written Thomas Gibson (seal)

• Legal: bond, 1848. A Nathaniel Gibson died in 1848. A bond taken in October Term A.D. 1848 shows Thomas Gibson & Raiford Fletcher as administrators on the rights and credits of Nathaniel Gibson, with William B. Cole and Neill McNair bound in sum of ten thousand dollars, dated 17 October 1848 and in presence of R. S. McDonald.
