• Residence: TN to MO, 1839, Buchanan County, MO. George I. Gibson lived in east Tennessee and moved to Missouri in May, 29, 1839 according to J. W. Gibson's book and Laningham's book at DAR. However, a Missouri census lists North Carolina as birth place.

• Will, 1853, Buchanan County, MO. I George Gibson of the County of Buchanan and State of Missouri being in Sound mind and memory but believing my Earthley existence uncertain do make this my last will and Testament in the manner and form following First, I desire my Burial Expenses paid out of my Estate - and Second, all just debts to be paid - Third, I Bequeth and give unto my wife Jemima Dacsing her widowhood one Negro Boy named Green Clay one Negro women Named Harriett on Boy named Frank one Girl named Jane and all the increase of said Negroes - I give unto my wife all the house hold and Kitchen Furniture to dispose of in any way she may see proper also I give the Live stock to my Beloved wife to do with as she may think best - the North west quarter of Section thirteen in Township fifty six Range thirty four I reserved in making the deed for my wife's Lifetime Home in said Land. I bequeth to my wife all the moneys & property that may be distributed to her from her Fathers Estate to do with as she may think proper - I leave all the property not named in the will be sold - and after my Estate is settled the money to be divided among my Children, to wit, I bequeth and Give unto my Daughter Elizabeth wife of Anderson Neal Five Dollars and no more. I Bequeth and Give unto my two Sons Zachariah Gibson & Robert Gibson Equal the west half of the north East quarter Section Eight in Township fifty Six Range thirty three - if Either of these two should die before they arrive of Lawful age the said Land I Desire to be Equal divided Between George I. Gibson, William L Gibson, James R. Gibson, and John W. Gibson. Either of the two that may revive also Lusinda Bridgemon Eliza Runnels Marry J. Willson all to be Equal - also the money that may be to Divide to Equal Divided Between George I. Gibson, William L. Gibson and James R. Gibson. John W. Gibson, Zachariah S. Gibson, Robert Gibson, Lusinday Bridgemon, Eliza Runnels, and Mary J. Willson also after the Experation of my wife widowhood and Lifetime the property to be Equal divided Between the Nine Children Last above Named I appoint for my trusty friends my two sons George I. Gibson & William L. Gibson to Execute this my Last will and testament in Witness whare of I have herunto set my hand and seal this the 12th day of March A.D. 1853

Be it remembered that on this day appeared Sylvester S. Hewlett before me Henry Teste Judge of the Probate Court of Said County who being duly sworn upon his oath States that he was one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the Annexed Will of George Gibson deceased late of Buchanan County in the State of Missouri that said George Gibson the testator Subscribed same in his pressence And published said will or Instrument of writing as his last will - that he Said testator was at the time of publishing his Said Will of Sound Mind and more than Twenty one years of age and that Said affiant attested said Will as one of the Witnesses thereto by Subscribing his name to Same in presence of Said testator and at the request of Said testator.

Be it remembered that on the 23rd day of April 1861 personally appeared before me Henry Teste Judge of the Probate Court of Buchanan County & State of Missouri Ransom Ridge one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will of George Gibson and being by me first duly sworn deposes and says that said George Gibson the testator Subscribed same in his presence and published Said will or Instrument of writing as his last will that he Said testator was at the time of publishing his said will of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age and that Said affiant attested said Will as one of the Witnesses thereto by Subscribing his name to the Same in presence of Said testator and at the request of Said testator.
