Humbly complaining shows to your Honor your orators and oratrix Joshua F. Gibson, B.F. Gibson, Nannie Chambers & Nathan Gibson, Eliza Branham & Pinkard Branham & Nathan Gibson Jr That in 1861 or 2 Phillip Gibson died seized and possessed of a tract of about 40 acres of land in Louisa County VA and that at his death the said tract of land descended to his father Nathan Gibson Sr the said Phillip having died intestate & without issue, that sometime about the year 1863 the sd Nathan Gibson died having the following children,
1st Henry Gibson dead and leaving one child Joshua F. Gibson
2 Susan who died before her father without issue
3 Wm Gibson dead, leaving a son F. F. Gibson
4 Jno Gibson dead, leaving children
............Nanny Chambers ............Nathan Gibson
5 Mary Ann Kennon who was Mary Ann Gibson
6 Eliza Branham who was Eliza Gibson
7 Phillip Gibson, dead & no issue
8 Nathan Gibson, Jr.
That at the death of sd Nathan Gibson, Nathaniel Kennon the husband of sd Mary Ann Kennon took possession of the personal property of sd Nathan Gibson and has never given any account of the same or made any settlement of the estate. That for the last six years the sd Nat Kennon has occupied said land & enjoyed the profits rising therefrom. That owing to the number of the parties interested (one word is unintelligible) small (one word is unintelligible) of said tract of land, that it cannot conveniently be divided in kind & your orators are desirous that the same be sold and the proceeds thereof divided among the parties entitled. For as much as grown remediless save in a court of equity when all such matters are cognizable and relievable they pray that Mary Ann Kennon, Nathaniel Kennon, Robert F. Moss, shff of Louisa Co. & as such admin of the estate of Phillip Gibson and Nathan Gibson dec'd may be made parties defts to this bill and required to answer the allegations thereof on oath as fully and particularly as if they were here repeated & they specially interrogated thereto. That all proper accts may be taken necessary to wind up the estate of said Phillip Gibson & nathan Gibson dec'd. That said Nat Kennon may be held accountable for the rents and profits of sd tract of land for the time he has been in possession of the same. That said land may be sold and the proceeds distributed to the parties entitled, and that your orators may have all such other further & general relief as the nature of their case may require as to equity can meet and your orators will unto pray or ............(untelligible abbreviations).

Lewis Napper bought some of the land
G. W. Kennon bought 20 acres of the southern part of the 43-1/3 acres in 1882. Signed Lewis Napper and Theodosha Gibson m. 22 october by Rev. William Cooke. Deposition 14 February 1881 by James Napper says that Nathaniel Kennon is living on the land standing in the name of Philip Gibson, dec'd about 14 years.
Nathaniel married Mary Ann GIBSON, daughter of Nathan NAPPER GIBSON and Lucy SHEPHERD. (Mary Ann GIBSON was born in 1822 and died after 1880.)
