Rebecca ERRINGTON

• Biography. John Sr., he died young just before the birth of his son Timothy.
Rebecca, the daughter of Abraham Errington and Rebecca Cutler, descended from the family of Catholic Martyr, Bishop George Errington.
Although she received some financial assistance from the church, after the death of John in 1679, Rebecca struggled to raise her young family alone.
She experienced great financial difficulty and in 1680 was "put out by the selectman to families in the country", obviously a very difficult time for her.

Rebecca married John GIBSON II, son of Sir John GIBSON of Pentland and Rebecca THOMPSON, on 9 Dec 1668. (John GIBSON II was born in 1641 and died in 1679.)
