• Reference: second wife. Sarah McClellan and her second husband, John Wilson, lived on a farm located in the northeast part of Cane Hill, just east of the Cold Spring on the road to the New Home (Greasy Valley) community. Samuel Getty McClellan later lowned and farmed this land. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Matthews built on this farm about 1936 and have since made it their home. It is believed that John Wilson and White McClellan might have been in business together in 1840, as the Jan. 1957 issues of FALSHBACK page 5, shows in the business receipts of James Henry, one dated Dec. 23, 1840 for $5.63 - McClellan and Wilson pr. Stone. The clerk who signed this receip was Stephen K. Stone who was then 15 years old and this was his first job after his arrival in 1839. He later became the town's wealtiest citizen.

Sarah Walker McClellan had no children by either marriage, but she reared tow children of Thaddeus Constantine Wilson, a brother of her second husband. They were:

Florence Wilson (1843-1909)
Montgomery Wilson (b. 1845)
a sister of these two, Myrtilla Wilson was reared by other relatives.
