Miss Merlyn Jeanette Haslerud, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Haslerud, living 4 miles west of here, became the bride of Frank Soffa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Amen Soffa, Preston in a double ring ceremony at the Evangelical Lutheran Church here Wednesday at 8 p. m. The Rev. T. J. Spande, former pastor, now of Kenyon, officiated.
The bridegroom's attendant was the bride's brother, Meredith Haslerud, Peterson, and attending the bride were Miss Ruth Mae Green as maid of honor and Ruth Melom, Peterson, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Arvid Norquist , Preston, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids.
Ushers were George Soffa, Preston, and Roger Stolen, Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Lowell Malmen and Dian Malmen, Peterson, cousins of the bride, were ring bearer and flower girl respectively.
A short organ concert was played by Mrs. O. S. Mundahl, Peterson, before the ceremony and Mr. and Mrs. A. I. Kvamme, Peterson, sang a duet. After the ceremony Arnold Melom, Minneapolis, sang a solo.
Eighty persons were entertained at the reception at the bride's parents' home.
Friday Mr. and Mrs. Soffa will leave for Baltimore, Md. where the bridegroom is employed.
