To this union were born Peter, Julius, Clara, Albert, and Arthur.
Mr. Sanders, with son Peter and Julius, came by rail to Wetaskiwin and by wagon to the Bittern Lake district in 1901, and built a small home on the NE-33-46-21-W4, land which he had purchased from the CPR on October 19, 1900. He filed on a homestead, SW-34, close by. He returned to Lanesboro in the fall. There, in early February, 1902, the Sanders family were given a great farewell by a host of friends and neighbours. The original quarter, NE-33, has been in the Sanders family ever since, the present owner being a grandson, Carl Sanders.

He operated pharmacies in and around Camrose, also going into farming south of Camrose. He married Mae Cole, from Nebraska. Clara Sanders married William John Wilson, an early homesteader south-west of the lake. Here they lived for four or five years, their eldest daughter being born during that time. They then moved to the Lougheed area.
