Eleanor Jeannette Trom was born March 21, 1924, to Selmer and Myrtle (Hellerud) Trom in Hendrum, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, by Rev. J.J. Jacobson. She grew up and received her education at Hendrum Public School, later moving to Halstad, MN, where she attended her last year of high school.
On October 4, 1941, Eleanor was united in marriage to Byron Bergee by Pastor Oliver Siem in Halstad. They continued to live in Halstad raising their two sons, Eugene and Gale, and one daughter, Sherry. In 1985 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, and in 1992 to Dilworth. They spent their winters in Arizona for eighteen years.
Eleanor enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was always waiting for company with coffee and a smile. She will be dearly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Byron, Dilworth; two sons, Eugene (Barbara) Bergee, Dilworth, and Gale (Linda) Bergee, Ada, MN; two brothers, Gerald (Virgina) Trom, Ulen, MN, and Chester (Roberta) Trom, Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry; her parents and a great-granddaughter, Shayna Marie Erickson.
