RICHARD AMICK Richard Carl Amick, 81, passed away Jan. 3, 2010, at Waterfield Memory Care. He was born April 5, 1928, in San Francisco. A graduate of Stanford University Law School, he was retired from the Department of Energy as chief counsel. A longtime Las Vegas resident, Richard and his wife, Mary, moved here from San Francisco in 1963. He then joined the Atomic Energy Commission as staff counsel. As a captain in the U.S. Army, he served in Korea with the Judge Advocate General Corps; in the U.S. Army Reserves he was commissioned as a major; and he taught law courses at The Presidio in San Francisco. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary; and sons, Richard of Seattle, and Robert of Las Vegas. He is remembered by his keen sense of humor and sharp mind. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Stanford Law School.
