Duncan H Irish, 60, of Nevada, died Thursday evening, Aug. 24 at his home.
Irish was born Feb. 1, 1918 at Montour, Iowa. He was the son of Carl T. and Ruth L. Irish.
Irish and been a resident of Nevada for the past 56 years and was the owner of Nevada Monument Co. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce, State and National Monument Association, and was also a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife Lucile; 1 son Robert R Irish of Bemidji, Minn.; two daughters, Becky Dankel of Nevada and Bonny McVey of Huxley, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Richard Irish of Nevada; one sister, Mrs. John Freeland of Des Moines and one stepsister, Mrs. Sue Squires of Palos Verda Estates, Calif.
Irish was preceded in death by his parents and one step-brother.
Funeral services will be held from the Memorial Lutheran Church Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until Monday morning.
Duncan married Lucile Flora MENZEL, daughter of Frank H. MENZEL and Louise Gertrude RIERSON, on 10 Aug 1941. (Lucile Flora MENZEL was born on 12 Feb 1921 in Warren County, Iowa, USA 2 and died in Mar 1985.)
