Themer, 73, of St.Anne, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Ron Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Aroma Township. Memorials may be made to the family wishes. He died Saturday (April 3, 2010) at St. James Hospital. Mr. Themer was retired from General Foods. He was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Kankakee County, the son of Theodore and Verla Littlewood Themer. Surviving are his wife, the former Lucille Brownfield, whom he married June 30, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in St. Anne; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald and Tracey Themer of Stafford, Va., Darryl Themer of St. Anne; one daughter, Denise Themer of St. Anne; five grand children and six great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers in-law, Marge and Jim Alder of St. Anne, Shirley and Eldon Knickerbocker of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lisa Themer of Kankakee.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dolores Garcia; and three brothers, Wayne, Roland and Sam Themer.
