Noted events in his life were: • Obituary: Racine Journal Times, 2006, Wisconsin, USA. RACINE - Clayton E. Rasmussen, 77, died Sunday morning, January 29, 2006, in All Saints Health Care - St. Mary's Medical Center after a long illness. He was born October 17, 1928, in Pontiac, Ill., the son of Ralph and Aldeane (nee: Ryerson) Rasmussen. Clayton married Betty Hans on April 17, 1954, in Chicago,Ill. He was employed with Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill., retiring in 1990. Clayton served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed sailing and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; a son, Marshal C. (Judy) Rasmussen of Glenview, Ill.; a granddaughter, Joanna Rasmussen of Glenview, Ill.; a brother, Ralph (Henrietta) Rasmussen of Zellwood, Fla.; a sister, Marian Rasmussen of Pontiac, Ill.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jarlath. Graveside services will be held in South Side Cemetery in Pontiac, Ill. on Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 1:30 p.m with Dr. Phillip Icenogel officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 until 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Clayton's name.
