PONTIAC - Edward Cox, 87, a resident of the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan, and formerly of R.R. 3, Pontiac, died at 11:44 p.m. Thursday (April 12, 1990) at the nursing home. Mr. Cox who had been in failing health, was a former General Motors employee and a retired farmer.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, the Rev. Craig Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac.

Mr. Cox was born April 24, 1902, at Orwell, Ohio, a son of Philip and Clara Haine Cox. He married Maurine Carlson on July 21, 1928, at Pontiac. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ronald J., Pontiac; one daughter, Claire Eichelberger, R.R. 2, El Paso; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Cox attended grade school and graduated from North Bloomfield High School in North Bloomfield, Ohio. He was employed by General Motors Corp. for 22 years before moving to Pontiac in 1943. He farmed there until retiring in 1975.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, and the Livingston County Farm Bureau.

Memorials may be made to the church or to the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.
