Name of Motorcyclist Killed Released
The Minnesota State Patrol says motorcyclist, Jacob Benesh died in a head-on collision Friday afternoon just outside of Hastings at the intersection of County Road 54 and Leduc Drive.
According to investigators, witnesses watched as a 1991 Ford Escort wagon drove into oncoming traffic, hitting the 1981 Suzuki motorcycle, that Benesh was driving.
The 22-year old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Escort is being named as 50-year-old William King, of Hastings. He was taken to Regina Hospital for minor injuries.
State Patrol has not said whether or not alcohol played a factor in the crash, nor has it said whether or not the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
