Elvina Olson, 74, of rural Spring Grove, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at her home.
She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Preble Township, Fillmore County, to Edwin and Sophia (Larson) Nerstad. She attended area schools and on Nov. 24, 1944, she married Perlind Olson at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel. The couple farmed in the Newburg and Preble Townships their entire lives. She was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Paul (Donna) and Charles (Fay) both of Spring Grove; a daughter, Karen (Mrs. Neil) Rasmussen of Mabel; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, LaVaughn (Mrs. Mike) Marsden and Eunice (Mrs. Allen) Johnson, both of Mabel. She was preceded in death by an infant son and her parents.
Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is in charge of arrangements.
