Stanley Robert Larson, 71, passed away March 21, 2012. He was born on May 22, 1940 in Rushford, MN to Myron and Stella (Hatling) Larson. Stanley graduated from the University of Minnesota with a double major in Agricultural Management and Agricultural Science. He retired from Wilson Foods after 35 years of service and was a chartered member of the Edmond Elks as well as devoted alumni of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Stanley met and married Barbara in 1963 and from that union had three children. Stanley was a member of the Lutheran Church and loved gardening, farm animals and above all, his grandchildren. Stan was completely consumed with joy! He always had a smile on his face with a nice word to say to anyone he met. His home was open to anyone who needed a place to rest their head or a meal to fill their tummy. Family was everything to him and he lived his life for his grandchildren. He was by far their most dedicated fan … come rain, snow or 120 degree Oklahoma heat, he was there. Above all, he had an unshakable faith for our Heavenly Father. He is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Larson. Stanley is survived by his children, Stephanie S. O'Keefe and husband Tom of Edmond, OK, Stacie A. Peterson and husband Douglas of Edmond, OK and Sheryl L. Griffin and her husband Jody of Mustang, OK; sisters, Helen Huseboe and husband Carl of Colorado Springs, CO and Sarah Schmanski and husband Don of Kalaheo, HI; brother, Vernon Larson and wife Sharon of Lemmon, SD; seven grandchildren, Heather, Kourtney, Ryan, Morgan, Jennifer, Joshua and Garrett. A memorial service for Stanley will be 2:00pm, Monday, March 26 at Life Church East Campus. We know, with no doubt in our minds, that God has welcomed him home with open arms. "Welcome home my son! Well done my good and faithful servant."
