Paula J. Saleda, 75, of Ottawa, died Friday, Aug. 19, at Community Hospital of Ottawa.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3.
Mrs. Saleda was born July 6, 1930, in Ottawa, to Eugenito and Demetria (Grandados) Rodriguez. She married John W. Saleda Sr. on Dec. 7, 1957.
She was a registered nurse at Ryburn-King Hospital, Rivershores Nursing Home, Ottawa Care Center, Heritage Manor and La Salle County Nursing Home. She also worked for Libbey Owens Ford. She was a member of St. Columba Church and the Guadelupana Society.
She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Janet (Jim) Ridings of Herscher, Judith (Dana) Ferracuti of Frankfort, Jody Saleda of Broadview, Jill Saleda of Aurora and Margarita Saleda of Chicago; a son, Jeffrey (Julie) of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren, Ronald Brigel, Stephanie and Laura Ridings, Joslyn, Jordan and Jenilyn Saleda, Kara, Nicholas, Kristen and Matthew Ferracuti; a sister, Steferina Jarigese of Ottawa; and a brother, Tino Rodriguez of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by a son, John W. Jr.; three sisters, Herminia Hortega, Stefana and Rosita Rodriguez; and eight brothers, Prudenciano, Emigdio, Bernabe, Tony, Peter, Raymond, John and Louie Rodriguez.
Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Church for Masses.
