Funeral services for Ruby will be on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Reeder, ND at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Stephanie Swanson will officiate with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Reeder. Viewing for Ruby will be Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel, Bowman, ND from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Ruby Ann C. Oase Braddock was born September 27, 1932, to Lars and Ruby Oase. She received her education in Reeder, ND where she graduated valedictorian from Reeder High School in 1950. She continued her education at Kahler Hospitals School of Nursing in Rochester, MN where she graduated with a Registered Nurse Diploma with the Class of 1953.
Ruby Ann married Dale Braddock on June 26, 1953 in Reeder, ND. They moved to Anchorage, AK where Dale was stationed during his military service and Ruby Ann worked at the local hospital. They moved to Williston, ND 17 months later and started a family. Ruby Ann and Dale moved to Reeder in 1959. Ruby Ann worked at the Hettinger nursing home for a number of years before finishing the remainder of her nursing career at the Bowman Hospital. Ruby Ann spent her retirement enjoying the company of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and camping and fishing with Dale. She moved to Hettinger until she broke her hip. After recuperation she moved to Bismarck to live with her daughter Norma. She spent her last months at the Baptist Home in Bismarck, ND.
Ruby Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Lars and Ruby Oase, husband Dale, one son, Keith Allen Braddock, brothers Robert Oase, Norman Oase, and James (Jimmy) Oase, sisters Louise Pachan, Ruth Kohl, and Corrine Prendiville. Ruby is survived by son Russell Braddock of Fargo and daughter Norma Braddock of Bismarck. Ruby Ann is also survived by five grandchildren, Shonda (Braddock) Desplinter of Tooele, UT, Christopher Braddock of Fargo, ND, Becky (Braddock) Hanrahan of Ft. Stevens, WA, Harry Braddock of Stanley, ND, Lisa (Braddock) Lappi of Gouverneur, NY, and 11 great grandchildren.
