Funeral services for Michael Ahrendt, 54, of Clarissa will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend with Reverend William Postel officiating. Mike passed away on Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.
Mike was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 9, 1949 to Lyle and Vivian (Stoner) Ahrendt.
During his childhood, he moved to the Clarissa area in 1954. In 1967, Mike graduated from Clarissa High School. Mike worked numerous jobs throughout his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian; brother, Mark; and his grandparents.
He is survived by three children, Shane (Kim) Ahrendt of Brainerd, Shawna (Scott) Thompson of Clarissa and Alicia (Brian) Strandberg of Bertha; his father, Lyle Ahrendt of Long Prairie; six brothers, Lawrence of Cass Lake, Stephen of Parkers Prairie, Roland of Browerville, Jeff (LeAnn) of Eagle Bend, Matthew (Sue) of Bertha and Tim (Sara) of Clarissa; two sisters, Michelle Lenz and Becky (Aaron) Kunerth of Long Prairie; eight grandchildren; and his good friend, Barb Erickson.
Casket bearers wwill be Jamie Ahrendt, Brad Ahrendt, J.J. Ahrendt, Cole Buchta, Keith Gabler and Herb Johnson.
Interment will be held at the Immanuel Cemetery in Eagle Bend, Minnesota.
