Sept. 22, 1914 -- July 7, 2004

Former Jefferson County resident Wilma C. ``Billie'' Wright died in Kent, where she had lived for the past two years. She was 89.
She was born in Burlington, N.D., to Wilbur Henry and Clara (Larson) Hathaway.
The oldest of three daughters, she worked on the farm with her father until the family moved to Irondale in 1929.

She graduated from Chimacum High School in June 1932, and married to Elwin Mark Wright of Chimacum on June 25 of the same year. They lived on the family farm until moving to Port Townsend, where their son and daughter were born.

The family then lived in Kitsap County until retiring to a cabin on Marrowstone Island, then to the home in Port Townsend in which they lived for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Wright was past regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, Admiralty Inlet Chapter, and was active in the genealogical society. She volunteered for the museum in Port Townsend and chaired tours of the Commanding Officer's House at Fort Warden State Park.

She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, which she was married in 1932.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Karen Wright of Lakeside, Calif.; daughter Elaine Renegar of Kent; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband died in January 1993, and two sisters, Jeanne Meacham Frye and Ruth Beryl Hall, are also deceased.

Services: Saturday, July 24, at noon, memorial in Greenwood Cemetery, Chimacum. Wendell Ankeny will officiate. An open house at the cabin on Marrowstone Island, 398 Merry Road, will follow. Kosec Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: Charity of choice. The family requests no flowers.
