WHALAN -- A graveside service for Mavis A. Halvorson, 72, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Burial will be in Elstad Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Halvorson died Friday (Feb. 24, 2006) at her home in Winona.
Mavis Benson was born May 30, 1933, in Whalan. She married Sigurd Halvorson on Jan. 10, 1953, in Whalan Lutheran Church. He died Oct. 21, 2003. She worked as a home health aide and at for Rush Products in Rushford, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Al-Anon.
Surviors include three sons, Gary Halvorson of Rochester, Keith Halvorson of Winona, Michael (Heidi) Halvorson of Rushford; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois (Dorman) Berekvan of Whalan and Inez (Duane) Snyder of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Johnson-Riley Funeral Home of Lanesboro is handling the arrangements.
