Mrs. Haslerud, 83, Dies at Peterson; Rites Wednesday
Peterson, Minn. -- (Special to The Republican-Herald) -- Mrs. Andrew Haslerud, 83, died at her home here Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Evangelical Lutheran church, with preliminary services at the home, the Rev. T. J. Spande officiating. Six nephews will be pallbearers and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. (Gjertrude) Haslerud was born in the parish of Nordre Land, Norway, August 22, 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Ensberg, who brought her to the United States in 1868. After farming for two years in Houston county the family moved to Peterson.

She became the bring of Mr. Haslerud September 28, 1878, at a double wedding. The other couple were Mary Haslerud and John Ensberg, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Haslerud celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 50 years later. The 62nd anniversary was observed last fall, but the other couple were present no longer.

A year after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Haslerud moved to a farm three miles west of Peterson, where they lived until 1917 when they came to town.

Mr. Haslerud and three of six children survive. They are Mrs. A. H. Melom, Battle Lake, Minn. who has been in Peterson for about a year; Oliver, on the home farm, and Edwin, Fargo, N. D. there are 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Gjertrud married Andrew P. HASLERUD, son of Peter Peterson HASLERUD and Cornelia Aslaksdatter TEIGEN, on 28 Sep 1878 in Arendahl, Fillmore County, MN.¹ (Andrew P. HASLERUD was born on 15 Jan 1855 in Peterson, Fillmore County, MN ⁵, baptized on 29 Aug 1856 in Rushford and died on 16 Oct 1942 in Peterson, Fillmore County, MN ⁶.)
