Dr. William GIBSON
Noted events in his life were:
• Biography. Dr. William Gibson, was one of the first professors of surgery at the University of Maryland and a famous Army surgeon who fought at the battle of Waterloo in 1815. With his son Charles Bell Gibson, Dr. Gibson witnessed the destruction of his beloved plantation home, then moved to Savannah, Georgia, where he died on March 2, 1868.
