• Obituary: Rochester paper, 2005. Mon, Aug 22, 2005 LANESBORO -- The funeral for Charles Peter Haslerud will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Haslerud, 50, a longtime resident of Lanesboro, died of myotonic dystrophy Saturday (Aug. 20, 2005) at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., where he had been a patient for one week. He was born Sept. 30, 1954, in Lanesboro. On Aug. 31, 1974, he married Julie Anne Gossman at St. Agnes Catholic Church in rural Cresco, Iowa. He worked as a farm laborer and then drove a truck for several gas companies, including Skelly, Midland and Amoco. He also worked in the city of Lanesboro's Maintenance Department and drove a Lanesboro school bus from 1985 to 1991.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glendon of Lanesboro; three daughters, Mina (Brian) Hubbard and Trina Haslerud, both of Rochester, and Ragina (Paul Gensmer) Haslerud of Lanesboro; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Elaine (Tom) Gosse of Wabasha, Gloria (Carmen) Sorrentino of Highland Park, Ill., and Inger (Bob) Smith of Kingsford, Mich. His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may call an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home of Lanesboro is in charge of arrangements.
