Carrol James Olness, age 77, died Friday (July 23, 2010) in Brownsville, Tennessee.
Mr. Olness was born and reared in Peterson, the son of the late Joseph Martin and Bertha Lillian Woxiand Olness.
He graduated from Peterson High School in 1951 and was married to Doris Helland.
Mr. Olness worked as a subcontractor at National Installation Systems and in the photography business.
He married Doris Hill in 1963.
He was a member of the Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Doris of Brownsville, four sons Larry (Shellie) of Oviedo, Florida, Steven of San Jose, Calif., Michael Crame of Henderson and Shawn (Reginia) of Henderson, two daughters Shellie (Dan) Muyres of Rochester and Trish Olness Wooley of Brownsville; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and three sisters; Beverly (Lewis) Olson of Peterson, Jean (Dave) Way of Brownsdale, and Barbara (George) Hovland of Rushford.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Dustin Olness.
