• Obituary: Tri-County Record, 1953, Fillmore County, MN. 5 Jan 1953
Thea Sophia Wethe, daughter of Johan Johnson Wethe and Maren Christine Wethe, was born in Smaalene [an old name for Østføld] Norway, Feb. 17, 1860. In 1872 she together with the family immigrated to America, coming directly to Grand Meadow, Minn. In 1873 she came to Peterson, Minn. and here she grew to womanhood. In 1910 she moved to Perkins County S.D., where she proved up a claim, after which she came back to Peterson and has lived here since. While she was well she was active and busy working at various places. Some years ago she had the misfortune of breaking her leg and since that time she has been unable to do any work. About three years ago [Jan 5, 1930 article] she came to the Ole Mundahl home and here she has had a good home and the best of care. Lately her health failed rapidly and on Tuesday morning, Dec. 27 at about 8 o'clock, she passed away. Her father passed away on Dec. 29, 1886 and her mother on June 29 1909. Her two brothers, Tom and Anton, also proceeded her in death. She is survived by the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Julia Haslerud of Peterson; Mrs. T. R. Benson, also of Peterson, Mrs. Mathilda Moen and Chaley Wethe of La Crosse. Thea was a member of Our Savior's Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. Her sickness and adversities she seemed to bear with patience and Christian fortititude. Blessed be her memory. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 30th at ?? at the Ole Mundahl home and at 2 o'clock at Our Savior's church, Rev. H. Rydland officated. At the services in the church Rev. and Mrs. Rydland sang a duet. Rev. Spande also spoke. The pailbearers were Stener Olson, E.T. Erickson, B. C. Benson, Byran Tebay, Carl Johnson and Oscar Ensberg.
