Carl B. Jordahl, 87, Albert Lea
Funeral services for Carl B. Jordahl, 87, of Albert Lea will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. John Hendriksen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Carl died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Carl Benjamin Jordahl was born on Aug. 27, 1916 in Whelan, Minn., the son of Christian and Caroline (Hatleli) Jordahl. Carl attended school in Albert Lea and at the age of 16 started work for Lakeshore Greenhouse in 1932. On July 24, 1941, he was united in marriage to Theressa Houglum in Kenyon, Minn. From 1942 until 1945, Carl was a crew chief for Northwest Airlines. In 1945, he began working for Queen Stoves as an inspector. He then returned to Lakeshore Greenhouse in 1948. In 1951 he began working for National Co-op working his way up to plant superintendent and in 1966, he began working for Universal Tire Warehouse also as plant superintendent, retiring in 1981. Carl enjoyed bowling, coin and stamp collecting, fishing and baseball. As a young man he also played the guitar in a band. Carl was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Theressa, son, Marlow and wife Barbara Jordahl, Loveland, Ohio, daughter, Barb and husband Steve Olson, Albert Lea. Six grandchildren, Scott and wife Pamela Jordahl, Julie and husband Doug Greiwe and Jeff and wife Stephanie Jordahl all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Chris and wife Julie Seavey, Albert Lea, Erik Seavey, Winona and Jenny Seavey, New Ulm. Ten great-grandchildren, Haley and Makenna Jordahl, Douglas, Parker and Caroline Greiwe, Alexander and Jackson Jordahl, Benjamin and Jenna Seavey and Anabelle Seavey.
Brothers, Merle and wife Dorothy Jordahl, Albert Lea and Leo and wife June Jordahl, Cherokee, Iowa.
Nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Oscar, Kenneth and Nervin and one infant sister and Selma Robinson.
