• Obituary: News-Gazette, The (Champaign-Urbana, IL), 2008, Illinois, USA. CHAMPAIGN \endash Mary M. "Peggy" Rotramel, 82, of Champaign died at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at the Carle Arbours, Savoy.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 405 W. Clark St., Champaign. The Rev. Dennis Spohrer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Peggy was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Urbana, a daughter of Harry and Marie Lipscomb Duffy. She married William R. Rotramel on Sept. 3, 1955, in Champaign. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard (Noreen) Rotramel and David (Allyson) Rotramel, both of Champaign; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, Chad, Joel, Drew and Colin; four brothers, Wally and Gary Hunt, both of Champaign, Rod Hunt of Marietta, Ga., and David Hunt of Sycamore.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Peggy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, VFW Post 5520 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 24 Auxiliary.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sporting events and spending time with her grandkids.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church or the Elks Lodge 2497 to benefit crippled children.
