• Obituary: Rushford, 1957, Fillmore County, MN. VOLUME XXXXII Thursday, January 31, 1957

Mrs Julia Paquette Mundahl, 61 years of age and a lifelong resident of the Peterson community, passed away last Saturday morning in the Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. She had been in failing health for the past ten months. [Leukemia]

Mrs. Mundahl was born in Peteson on January 16, 1896. On March 11, 1919 she was united in marriage to Ole S. Mundahl, the ceremony being performed by Rev. P. L. Ljostveit.

She is survived by a son, Roger of St. John, ND and two daughters; Miss Evelyn Mundahl of Zumbrota, and Mrs. Ray Congdon (Janell) of Alden, MN: three step children, Mrs. Alfred (Signa) Benston and Miss Mabel Mundahl, both of Peterson and Oscar Mundahl of Rochester; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Blanche) Johnson of Bucyrus, ND and Mrs. Harry (Gladys) Otos of Vancouver, WA; two brothers Harry and Clayton Larson of Hettinger, ND and one uncle, Carl Johnson, of Peterson.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 29th at 1:30 at the Jensen Funeral Home in Rushford, and at 2:00 pm in the Grace Lutheran church in Peterson with the Rev. James W. Asp officiating. A group of ladies sang two selections during the service, "By grace I am an Heir of Heaven" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Burial was made in the East Grace Cemetery. The pall bearers were J. Orin Agrimson, John Olness, Ole L. Olness, Oliver Haslerud, Henry Berge and Byron Tebay. Blessed be her memory.

Married at the bride's home, Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Haslerud, Tuesday evening, March 11th, Miss Julia Haslerud to Mr. Ole Mundahl. Rev. Ljostveit tying the nuptial knot. Miss Ella Ensberg attended the bride, while Georgie Haslerud was the best man. The bridal couple left on the evening train for Fairfax, Minn., the former home of the groom.

They have rented rooms over the Moen Art Gallery where they will go to housekeeping on their return. The Herald extends heartiest congratulations.
