PETERSON, MINN. - Jeanette Ruschmann, 92, of Peterson, Minn. died on Thursday, June 28, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Jeanette was born on February 26, 1920 in Peterson, to Carl and Bertha (Gullickson) Malmin. She was raised in Peterson and graduated from Peterson High School in 1939. She then went on to graduate from secretarial school. Jeanette moved out east to Baltimore, where she worked in an airplane manufacturing plant and also did secretarial work. While in Baltimore, Jeanette met Joseph Ruschmann. They were married on January 13, 1951. The couple lived in Pennsylvania until 1962, when they moved back to Peterson and became owners for the Peterson Our Own Hardware Store. Jeanette was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson and it's circle and quilting group. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, watching the deer and the birds. Jeanette loved everything about her beautiful home in the valley.
She is survived by two daughters: Karen (Mark) Sprint of St. Cloud, Minn. and Jackie (Ken) Pederson of Albert Lea, Minn.; four grandchildren: Diana, Lisa, Jordan and Annika; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dian Fossum of La Crosse, Wis. and LaVaughn Greenwalt-Nolan of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; and by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, and eleven siblings: Barbara, Clair, Lincoln, Allen, Milford, Robert, Curtis, Joyce, Lowell, Vern and Carl.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson with the Rev. Ron Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the East Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Peterson. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Jeanette's family prefers memorials to be directed to the Grace Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
